IMO Calls for Listing Iraq into White List

Ashok Mahbatra, the Head of maritime training and human resources at IMO said that the organization is ready to cooperate with Iraq for listing it in the White List countries and supporting it in the field of building the institutions of the Iraqi maritime authority, as well as counseling in the field of forming Iraqi maritime law.
Mahbatra’s statement came during the participation of CMC’s delegation represented by: Eng. Ahmed Waleed Ahmed, the official of frequencies department for licensing affairs, in the meetings of comsar that held at the HQ of IMO in London for the period 7 to 11 MAR, 2011.
The Admiral Atemus Metropolis, Security General of the IMO for the Iraqi delegation, said “the organization is ready to support Iraq and meet the needs in order to return completely to the international maritime community.
On the fringe of the meetings the permanent representative to the IMO, expressed his country’s readiness to train Iraqi navy cadres at Iranian training institutions and engage to programs of joint operation with Iraq via Iranian state maritime companies.

 

CMC Participates in COSMAR Meetings

CMC's representative Eng. Ahmed Waled, official of frequency Dept., participated in COSMAR meetings which have been made in Navy organization headquarter in London between 7 to 11of MAR, 2011.

The attendants in this meetings discussed Iraqi rights in INMARTSAT. CEO of INMARSAT talked about the necessity of activating Iraqi role in this organization by joining its latest amendments which included providing different INMARSAT services that Iraq needs in addition to following up Iraq's merits in this concern. As well as Iraqi joining to the definition and commentary long term system especially that all sisterly countries is working by it in current time.

Iraqi delegation in these meetings pointed at : searching the developments of international marine and relief system , expanding in apply this system as navigation information and exchange regional navigation information, depend on marine digital and radio database according to (mars) system, coordination with (ITU) organization, following up the developments in trainings on recognition system of marine satellites communication systems on regional and international levels and the latest developments in marine radio communication field within the activities of (ITU), Inmarsat application and (cospas-sarsat) satellites especially in voice relief between coast and ships through Inmarsat, activate last amendments in the agreement of research and rescue (sar1979) especially joint applications between IMO and ICAO , issue new version from joint international index for air marine research and rescue, latest developments in marine electronic navigation, work on frequency 406 MHz for (EPLAB) emails which focus on rescue work staff on shipments.
