Al-Sumaria Responds to CMC Provisions

In response to CMC demand, a delegation of Al-Sumaria satellite channel met on Tuesday with CMC's manager of media department Mujahed Abu Alhel, manager of legal department Salim Abdulqahar, and representatives of licensing and monitoring departments. The station's delegation was headed by the managing director Ammar Talal in addition to the programs manager and the legal advisor.
The meeting came in response to the warning letter CMC sent lately to the channel over a number of violations marked by CMC's monitor department against the channel.
The channel's officials expressed their readiness to comply with the professional criteria and broadcasting codes issued by CMC, and to take immediate actions to avoid the violations CMC outlined on the channel.
At the end of the meeting, CMC officials praised their counterparts from the channel for their quick response to deal with the violations in a way that falls within Iraqi media interest.
