By International, local Great Attendance.. CMC launch Du3m 2025 Initiative, Expose Implementation; Prospective Programs of ICT
During attendance of ITU Mr.Houlin Zhao, and the General Secretary of Arab Organization for Communications and Information Technologies- Mr. Mohammed bin Omar, along with big attendance of governmental and parliamentarians, and wide participation of private sector of manufacturers and service providers, CMC launched DU3M 2025 Initiative to develop both sectors of media communications and information technology in Iraq.
The conference commenced with a welcoming speech by CMC Board of Commissioners – Mr. Ashraf Al-Dahan, who thanked all participants participated in this conference that was held in a new stage in Iraq seeking to compete in the development and prosperity, and opening investment horizons. The most prominent one was investment in commercial sector on glob level, namely ICT sector, pointing out that CMC was seeking by Du3m 2025 project to strengthen Iraq status among technological developed countries that will open new investment doors to enhance economy and financial revenues and providing big employment opportunities for the young people.
Mr.Houlin Zhao- ITU General Secretary announced his speech ITU;s history, reviewing the major achievements and projects supported by ITU, exposing of new shift in ITU work to support the developing countries. He praised Du3m 2025 project and its strategic objectives.
Mr.Zhao confirmed ITU support for Iraq to implement DU3M 2025 programs, arranging training programs, and arranging strategic plans needed by project, and providing all international facilities that contributed in the success of such a unique strategic project of its kind at region level.
In the speech of the Parliament Chairman First Deputy was presented by his advisor: Mr. Nadhum Al-Saedi, in which he confirmed the importance of developing telecommunications and information technology sectors in Iraq because of its great importance in the revival of country’s economic, that became a standard of countries success and progress. He referred to Parliament’s readiness to provide all what involved in contribution to make any strategic and developing project successful to boost Iraq economy.
Mr. Saedi called Ministries and Commissions to cooperate with CMC to implement this strategic project, it is anticipated to enhance status of communications and information and create new work opportunities that would contribute in reducing joblessness average.
In turn, the Secretary General of Arab Organization for ICTs renewed the organization’s readiness which represented the Arab League to support and contribute in implementation of the DU3M 2025 project launched by CMC. He expressed his admiration for that initiative that included institutions and individuals development at the same time.
CMC Chief Executive Officer explained in detailed demonstration the DU3M 2025 strategic initiative and revealed the major goals of that initiative and the projects already done and other ones in progress, besides the strategic projects. He referred that this initiative has gained governmental approval according to the Cabinet Council decision No.94 of the year 2018 as a first event of its kind at the Global level. In addition to the International approval issued by the Commissioners’ Council Conference held in Dubai in 2018, along with the Arab league decision that gave a great backing to the project.
Mr. Al-Khuwaildi clarified the objectives of DU3M 2025 initiative, which are as follows.
1. Enhancing the role of the Information and Communications Technology sector as an influential factor enabling community and economic for motherland development.
2. Up warding the digital economy and electronic financial transactions.
3. Supporting cooperation and contribution among stockholders involved in ICT.
4. Encouraging investment and competition in Iraqi market and adopting transparency in ICT sector.
5. Developing citizens, especially disabled individuals, and the rural inhabitants to achieve high service level, and to fill the Knowledge gap among people categories, and providing work opportunities for qualified young people.
6. Strengthening Iraqi position regionally and internationally in communications and technology information.

CMC chief executive officer added that Du3m 2025 projects will achieve a quality leap to Iraq at the global and regional level because it is the first of its kind, and has been put according to bases of systematic well thought out goals and results, as to the following projects:
CMC Chief Executive Officer revealed the projects that DU3M 2025 Initiative has commenced to achieve:
Private sector companies specialized in communications and information technology; providers of mobile and internet services and manufacturers companies of special electronic devices, they submitted illustrative demonstrations regarding their programs which would contribute in implementation of the strategic DU3M project. They expressed their gratitude to CMC for providing such investment opportunities and developed programs that may participate in upgrading communications and information technology sectors in Iraq, and achieving a new transformation in the country.
After that, a group of young people presented stories about their success in the field of communications and information technology that contributed in changing their economical and personal lives that made them as effective individuals in the community. They expressed their thanks to CMC for granting them the chance through DU3M 2015 strategic initiative to expose their talents and abilities.
