CMC Imposes Financial Fines on Mobile Phone Companies

CMC imposes financial fines on mobile phones companies (Asiacell, Zain- Iraq and Korek Telecom) due to the poor quality of service offered for subscribers.

Financial fines were pursuant to decisions of CMC technical teams that were performing continuous inspection tours at all regions of Iraq, in addition to the complaints received by CMC through Consumer Voice Department on the free number (177).

In addition to the financial penalties, the decision included obliging companies (Zain, Asiacell and Korek Telecom) to improve their services within limited period, otherwise, CMC will take more deterrent procedures that would be suitable to the reform measures, as stipulated in the terms of license contract signed among companies mentioned above and CMC.

CMC confirmed to all costumers of mobile communications services that it will carry on following up those companies and instructed them to ensure providing  the best communications services.
