CMC, its Iranian Counterpart Agree to Resolve Frequency Interference, Dr.Al- Khuwaildi Announced from Tehran that Iraq, Iran Assembled by Common Interests in ICT Sector that Need Constant Cooperation
Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaildi; CMC Chief Executive Officer during his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in response to invitation addressed to him by Mr. Hussein Falahi: Chief of Iranian Communications Regulatory Commission confirmed that Iraq and Iran assembled by common interests in ICT sector, which need continuous cooperation.
Dr. Al-Khuwaildi during his visit to Tehran, he met the Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology (Mr. Mohammad Jawad Jahrami) and the chairman of Iranian Telecommunications Regulatory Commission: (Mr. Hussein Fallahi) discussed a bunch of mutual issues between the two countries, and the necessity to continue such cooperation. Developing frameworks and mechanisms of these files came first, to organize and provide high communications quality services especially during the 40th event of Imam Hussein visit attended by millions of people,
Dr. Al-Khuwaildi started his visit by meeting the Iranian Telecommunications Regulatory Commission Chairman, and discussed the minutes of bilateral meeting held in Baghdad on 6th -7th of August 2018 about the facilities provided during 40th event visit including the followings:
· Continuous cooperation to provide facilities in telecommunications services to the visitors.
· Allowing journalist’s equipment and devices.
· Increasing capacities and reducing mobile roaming fees.
· Selling and trading mobile SIM cards at the borders of the two countries.
· Allowing Iranian companies to send their representatives and delegates to Iraq during the visit to provide services to the Iranian visitors.
· Iraqi communications companies provided support and service to Iranian visitors by opening customer service centers.
· Iranian companies should provide high quality service.
They also discussed finding successful and fast solutions for the important issues between the two countries represented by discussing providing facilities and services during the next 40th event visit. Borders interference issues between the two countries were discussed, in addition to the coordination about VHF/UHF broadcasting channels, and discussing the technical solutions to reduce borders interferences too. It was also stressed on the need to find a technique for resolving the interferences within 2G, 3G and 4G bundle, and to review and update the bilateral agreement between the two countries on (21st -25th August 2016).
As a result of the visit, Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaildi met with Iranian Minister of Communications Mr. Mohammad Jawad Jahrami, Mr. Mohammad Jawad welcomed the Iraqi delegation and recalled the warm reception and hospitality and facilities carried out by CMC during previous 40th event visit.
Then, Dr. Al-Khuwailidi and Al-Jahrami held a joint press conference; Al-Jahrami praised CMC’s role to facilitate procedures for organizing the mutual communications during the visits’ events which included more than million participants. These events were highly coordinated by both sides to ensure and provide best telecommunications services to all Iranian visitors, plus facilitating expert staff assignment and arranging communications services for centers of missing people. The Minister also pointed out the necessity of maintaining coordination and continuation for the next visit event, updating agreements and services level by using modern technology. He confirmed his readiness to provide all facilities in all fields.
Dr. Al-Khuwaildi stressed the need of updating the agreement signed last year between the two parties to ensure communications quality, enhancing services, and using the latest technical solutions in order to reduce frequency interferences and efficient use of spectrum at the borders areas between the two countries.
CMC Chief Executive Officer also met group of Iranian companies specialized in communications and information technology field. He saw the development in this sector and the most important industries and the solutions presented by these companies which may be useful in future to improve the Iraqi sector and re-establish the infrastructure in the areas that suffered from Da’esh wars.
