Iraq and Oman cooperation in ICT sector


CMC delegation visited Sultanate of Oman and met some officials of communications and informatics regulation sector in Muscat.

CMC delegation discussed with the officials of Telecommunications Regulatory Commission in Oman to complete preparation and signing the “cooperation agreement” established previously by Dr. Ali Nasser Al-Khuwaildi – CMC Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Hamad bin Salem Al Rawahi: Chairman of Telecommunications Regulatory Commission in Oman, which aims to sign a mutual cooperation agreement in the process of regulating ICT sector, in addition to strengthen and enhancing cooperation and expertise exchanging in the fields that would support the best of legal applications practices in  telecommunications sector.

In addition to the cooperation of decisions issuance pertaining regulation of telecommunications policy in International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and expertise exchanging, holding free courses for Commission’s staff in Oman besides exchange visits between the two Commissions, the Omani officials welcomed CMC initiative, considering such initiative as the cooperation key between Baghdad and Muscat which are one of the most important sector for constructing the bases of modern developed countries.

CMC delegation stressed that CMC is always seeking to open cooperation prospects with the                                                                                                                                             communications regulatory commissions in all Arab countries, especially to exchanging information, experiences and developing this vital sector. CMC is currently implementing Du3M 2025 initiative that seeks to develop communications and informatics sector in Iraq.
